Mixed Pulses Curry | Kaalu Saaru

To Grind:


  • 2 large onions

  • 1 large Tomato 

  • 2 tbsp Dhania / Coriander powder

  • ½ tbsp. chilli powder

  • ½ cup dry coconut powder

  • ¼ cinnamon powder

  • 5 cloves

  • 1-inch ginger

  • 8 to 10 garlic cloves

  • Some fresh coriander leaves

  • Water as required 


Grind above ingredient into a very fine paste and keep that aside


To Cook:


  • 1 tbsp oil

  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds 

  • Some curry leaves 

  • Salt

  • 2 cups canned pulses or precooked pluses 

  • Water

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pan, and then add the mustard seeds.

  2. Let it splutter and then add curry leaves, sauté. 

  3. Add the paste. Cook for 2 minutes and add the water.

  4. Add the salt. Fry for another 2 minutes. Now add the cooked pulses.

  5. Cover and cook for 10 mins on a medium heat.
